I was looking on the internet today for ghost hunting tips and I came across these warnings:

Warnings

    * A high percentage of evps are violent in nature so don't freak out if you get one.
    * Follow and obey all the laws when conducting a investigation.
    * Avoid being attacked by ghost, especially night hags.Night Hags can attack and most likely follow you home!!!!
    * Don't disrespect powerful or/and evil ghosts. They might decide to torture you.

What exactly is a night hag ????

Yes, I've heard the same thing too about EVP's  that they tend to be bad and violent.  I've also heard if you do them to much it will call bad demons to you like a spirit board does.

I'll looked all over for night hags, and I'll I found was that they are known to attack you in your sleep...I couldn't find anything that said they would attack at any other time?

I heard the same thing about EVP's, in fact if I remember right Paranormal State did an episode on such a thing.  There was a woman who became obsessed with EVP's and it brought bad spirits to her.   

What is a night hag suppose to be, a type of ghost???

I've never heard of a 'Night Hag'. I understand the rest of it. It's slightly exagerrated the way it's worded but pretty accurate. But a NIGHT HAG?! The only thing close to a Night Hag I've ever seen is when I wake up in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom and I glance at myself in the mirror while I'm washing my hands. So I guess they do attack you at night!
