Hello,
It was a beautiful day for ghost hunting at Bachelor's Grove today!
Here is one of my photos.
It was taken at the forest clearing to the west of the cemetery. It looks to me that there are actually flames coming up around the branches that are lying on the ground to the right of the photo..and within the flames there looks to be a figure on fire! Am I seeing things?? Qu

if you look to the left side of the picture all the way up, You see a side veiw of a burbing face.

To me, this looks like the sun streaming through the foilage there, but that's just what it seems like to me.

This is a super cool illusion in my opinion. I have to agree with JFloydian. But I do see everything that you are describing without a doubt it looks like that! It's just that if you force yourself to look at it realistically it's all there. ....The dead brown grass with the sun flaming thru it and grey tree bark peeking thru all of that to look as though there are shapes and figures right in the middle of it. You know what though? I could be wrong. Been wrong many times. So let me know if you see something else in the pic that might make me change my mind. I actually love the picture and as I said it's an awesome illusion if that's what it is.

That is a really awesome picture! It probably is an illusion with the sunlight, but in any case, it's fun to look at. Did you get any more pics with that crazy sunlight, whether it looks like flames or not?

I agree that it looks like an illusion. If you look at the foliage on the ground below the flames, they look similar (just not floating in the air). But any way you look at it, it's an amazing illusion!! I did see a figure though; it looked to me like it was looking off the the right...

Angel, I believe that this picture is the only one like it with the flame effect.
When I get home tonight I will look through them again.
I am tempted to return to that spot to see if there is foliage like that around those branches.

Hello All,
BBK and I went to Bachelor's Grove today. It felt calm and peaceful, although a bit cold around 35 degrees or so.
One of the things I wanted to do was to validate my photo of the 'burning figure.'
We were able to get back to the same exact spot using identifying markers on trees. It turns out that the photo is a great illusion after all. There is a different kind of foliage where the 'flames' are and they are that tall. So I am presuming that because the day of the photo was bright and full of sunshine, the suns' rays lit up that foliage causing it to look like flames. Good call friends!! =D>

Way to follow up JP. It's always nice to have the answer to a mystery but so many times we don't follow thru on the evidence. It is a wonderful photo. One that I would frame in some sort of out of the ordinary art frame and put it some place for a great discussion piece. If I had the money to do it with I could have a wonderful collection of mystical photos between this photo and Ghost1's IR photos of the Grove. Of course I would ask permission before doing that. But I just think it would be a wonderful collection.
