I am just learning about BG. Other than EVP's I am just wondering what sounds other folks have heard.

Over the years I have had members tell me about howls, from dogs or coyote's was always are guess. There has been a few reports of sounds in the woods accompanied by heavy breathing also.

I have heard a weird howling out there before, at night coming from the woods. You can also hear small sticks breaking and leaves rustling as if there is something in the woods tracking you.

ive heard growling and heavy breathing like ghost mentioned. ive always heard weird hooting noises and weird screams coming from the woods when we were there alone. weve even walked all along the back parts of the woods after we heard noises and found nothing.

What you guys are reporting, seems so much like classic sasquatch signs/sounds. Perhaps in addition to this cemetery being haunted, perhaps there are other flesh and blood visitors/occupants visiting/living there as well. There are so many unknowns in this world. With regard to sasquatch, pictures are next to impossible. I can only imagine how many game cameras are out there trying to capture an image of a sasquatch. Actually, from what I've seen here, I perhaps think getting a picture of a ghost just might be a little easier. Typical sasquatch behavior would in fact be the sound of footsteps following you or walking with you. Every once and a while someone gets a glance. Most times though, people are left with the feeling at having been escorted out of an area and never seeing what escorted them out.

I'm not saying that there is something and I'm not saying that there isn't anything in the woods but.. There is a lot of natural noise in woods. I'm an ex-hunter and camper. I used to spend a lot of time in the woods. I'd bet there are a lot of natural explanations for a majority of sounds. Tree branches do break and fall from trees naturally. It can sound like someone walking in the woods. Especially in fall when the leaves are crunchy. A couple of chipmonks scared me because of the noise they made. They were trying to scare me off because I was in their "place". I moved 10 feet away and they stopped. A squirrel going through dead leaves can sound like an army.
Wind blowing through trees can sound like moaning and groaning. Just because there is no wind at ground level doesn't mean there is no wind 50 feet up. Also, look up in the trees for different animals that could be making noise. We are used to looking on the ground or at ground level for things. Animals can blend in with their surroundings. Especially deer. When in a cautious mode, deer will move several steps and freeze. You may not notice the deer but you'll hear them move.
People like to abandon their pet dogs. Some times the dogs get hit by cars or get attacked by other animals. Their moaning from pain, etc can carry a distance. Then there are coyotes and other feral animals that create howling and grunts.
When you hear something, keep an open mind and try and document the sound. Carry a notebook, pen/pencil and watch. Write down what you heard, when, where, weather conditions and what you were doing at the time. Try to describe the sound in writing. If you can, bring a digital recorder with you to record all the sounds. See if it forms a pattern. Don't automatically assume every noise you hear in the woods is paranormal. Even if it is B.G. Also, bring a camera. You never know if you'll get the million dollar picture. :a102:

Steve, that is exactly how we think about and treat the subject of bigfoot. It's pretty much the same with any subject of the unknown. Stan's favorite thing to do is to take recordings in the woods of birds, or what ever other kinds of noises he hears in the woods. He doesn't always know what those noises are and will usually post them in hopes of identifying them. Coyotes are responsible for an awfully lot of vocals, but there are those you just can't identify. It is to the benefit of all of us to try and identify some of these sounds so we can hopefully eliminate them from what we're really looking for. That isn't always possible though. I would say the vast majority of those interested in bigfoot are hunters and they get out in the woods frequently. Stan gets a lot of recordings from hunters of things they cannot identify. Stan posts some of them in hopes of someone else who may be able to identify what the vocal/sound is. Believe it or not, sometimes it's just as interesting to discover it's from a common animal. We just had a thread started today about bucks/does (deer) making growls. The average individual doesn't expect to discover that a deer growls - but apparently they do. It's likely a defense thing. I would imagine deer are quite aware they are prey. To hear a growl in the woods would intimidate just about anyone. It would me. Sometimes the only way to get to the truth is to be skeptical. I don't know about you, but I don't want the answer I'm looking for to be that easy.
