Title: P. Seth Magosky Museum
Post by: Ghost1 on Aug 31 2009 - 09:43PM
I spent most of the day at the P. Seth Magosky Museum in Joliet, IL yesterday.  I plan on setting up a DVR surveillance system in this building overnight coming up real soon so I wanted to check the place out.  It's a beautiful Victorian home with all the furnishings, and also seems to have a ghost or two.  I didn't feel anything as I walked in, however I sure did the second I went to the second floor.  It was pretty intense in the basement too.

Here are a few of my pictures, I'll put more later..... It appears that I have found a few things in them already too!

Here is a interesting one I can't explain.  I was the only one in the room, just the chandler on above me and thee drapes where all closed.... I used no flash too.  So what heck is on this picture then?  I'll up load another weird one from the same room in a bit.

BTW, I overwrote my original by mistake, I'll get it from the camera tomorrow and up load it again.....so this is just the closeup for now.

(sorry too, this pic is a little out of focus/

Well - John will be on The Unexplained World, radio show tonight Sept 1st. broadcast starts at 8pm. at http://www.blogtalkradio.com/tuw (http://www.blogtalkradio.com/tuw) as I would like him to tell our listeners a bit about what he got on the photos. As I thought it would be a good idea to have him come out to the Scutt Mansion as I talked to him in the past about it, and Sunday on my way there to do Readings, I gave him a call, he was free and the rest is now history. Plus it confirms what I have said about the Mansion as I have said about the Senator Humphrey House, there are things going on there.

Already there are two nights in October planned at the Scutt Mansion, open to those who reserve in advance and will end with me and those who assist me, in doing a Seance. One of the nights will be when the Veil is it's thinnest, Halloween Night.

Also the location along with the Humphrey House can be reserved for Private nights and I just had it approved that I can hold Over Nighters there, be they Private or a night I book for Individuals. Details about what is coming up for the Paranormal Nights at the Scutt Mansion can be found at: http://hauntedhistoriclocations.com (http://hauntedhistoriclocations.com)

Information on Private Over Nighters have not been added to the web pages yet, but it will be the same as the Private Nights (min 10 people), just a slight price increase for the Over Nighters.

Remember the show at 8pm tonight or listen to the Archived Broadcast latter.

Happy Hauntings,

Edward Shanahan

the blue flame one looks interesting, about the other one, the one with the long L shaped streak, it almost looks like it could be a door or a window reflecting in the glass of the picture, but im sure john would know if their was light coming through the windows or doors at the time.

Here are a few more pictures, I left these full sized this time too.  The one is a view looking east off the roof across the river, that is the Harris Casino right there.

BTW, in the pic with the river, there is a boat on the left side moving right very slow......But with the long exposure with IR photography it's a blur.  Let's just say it's a ghost boat.   :*:

Great Pics! That one that Annica picked out and enhanced sure did look like a face on a little creature....hmmm

Also I know that first one it looks as tho you caught something in the window all the way up at the top but then there was another little thing in one of the windows. I circled it. Do you think that looks like anything? I circled it on both of the pics cause it actually stands out more in the one that you inverted.

Was there today with Ghost... The one with the long streak is definitely from a nearby window. We debunked that one today.

Definitely a very cool place. The vibes in there are extremely weird... I didn't get anything the first time through the house, on an unofficial tour. But when I helped Ghost grab some things for the owner from the basement, I got a completely different feeling.

I highly recommend going there and taking the official tour. It's well worth it, and the donation goes to an extremely worthy cause.

Glad you had a good time there. It`s good too that you debunked the one image as we don`t want to have a bad image. Maybe one day i`ll check the place out.

Yes, In fact I just did it tonight.  It even looks like we caught something within minutes of turning on the first cam.  They will be in there till Sunday afternoon, I'll post stuff as soon as I get it.

I went with Ghost to help "tear down" the camera setup. We also had a discussion about EVPs done during a previous investigation, so I post them here for your pleasure. The one with the laugh that I was talking to Ghost about will auto-play when the page loads, so heads-up.

http://www.aghostpage.com/psethmagoskymuseum.htm (http://www.aghostpage.com/psethmagoskymuseum.htm)

We actually got on the topic of the EVP in the basement (the one with the laugh on the page) because Ghost was trying to use me as a guinea pig for the spirits to show us their signs. I wasn't overly impressed with Ghost's suggestions of "If you're here, knock Max's glasses off his head" or "I bet you're not strong enough to knock Max over" or "C'mon, throw one of these glasses at Max"...

I'm going through video footage from the four days in the mansion, for the most part I haven't found much.  However In Seth's room one night the camera which is on a mini tripod on his dresser starts to move upward, which could be the camera slipping..... But then it slowly starts to go downward, the camera can't slip both ways by it's self.  Now this does this not once but three times in just a minute and in the whole rest of the video it never moves a inch??  Kind of interesting, huh?  :055confused:

I'll post the video in a while was it's converted.
