I suppose this could have been someone actually there today, but I'm thinking not.
A) I saw no one that looks like this
B) I am careful to make a note when I take a picture with someone in it, and saw no one when taking this.
C) She looks like she's dressed like an old school teacher?
D) I don't know what D really is, she just doesn't look RIGHT to me.
John, did you see anyone that looked like this there today? I am pretty sure I took this right around the time that the woman fell as she was coming through the gate. Part of me thinks it looks like she is holding a camera or something, but the other part thinks she just has her hand up and has a belt or something on. I just..don't know...
Thoughts, please!

And now I'm thinking probably just someone there today that I missed. Maybe I took the shot and was then distracted by the woman wiping out and so never noticed a person there. it's just too clear, although she does still just look weird to me. Bah.......
-
cho She appears semi-transparent, how very odd?? I'm going to have to look at this one a lot closer............. cher
-
I know just what you mean, I have looked at it about 600 times tonight. Her face just kills me.
-
This is so clear it's freaky!

Wow....even though it looks like a real person. Look at the glow and the clothes. hmmmmmmmm =D> =D> =D>

I just realized that this was not at all where we were when the woman fell. So that throws that potential distraction out the window.
Thank you, insomnia!

When that lady tripped by the entrance, this is not where we where standing. We where closer to the checkered tombstone which would have been to far away and the wrong angle for this picture. This short was taken from pretty much center of the cemetery about 150' north of the entrance.
-
Correct a mundo! I'm not not sure why I couldn't orient myself with this at first, for some reason I thought the place was the same. After looking at it a million and 3 times last night it finally righted itself in my head :)

Forget all that blabbering above of mine. For about 30 different reasons I know there is no way I would not have noticed this woman. She was simply not there. And I still cannot get the look on her face out of my mind. She is so clear though that I kept going back and forth, doubting my memory.
Fred.... I was thinking that it kind of looks like she might be wearing a kerchief, Aunt Jemima style. Or maybe her hair is pulled back. Or maybe her hair is with her legs, wherever the heck they may be.
-
I thought about this picture all day. She looks so real. I was telling Magpie about it. She has been out of town with no internet. I told her as soon as she gets home check this one out. It is as clear of not clearer then her man she captured when we were there one year ago. At first I was not sure about this picture, but look at the glow and the clothes. She has a blouse and the waist of what I think is a skirt is cut so high. Make me think of the clothing they wore in pioneer days. Or the 80's....LOL
THIS IS A TOTALLY GREAT PICTURE !!!!!!!!
-
I joined because Lauren told me to. She emailed the pics to me....and um, this lil lady looks utterly surprised by the company she received that day!!! Nice photo!
-
OMG! That is just a amazing picture, the weird glow and the strange look on her face.
JUST A GREAT PICTURE! =D> =D> bo bo

J? That you? A word to the wise... Lauren tells you to do something, you'd better get on it LOL
-
Awesome picture I agree! I wonder what she was looking at? Could it be another angry ghost? Or was she surprised when the woman fell? If you don't mind me asking, how did she fall? Sorry; my computer was broke for a while so I'm just getting used to having the internet again! ;)
-
Were you there on Saturday or Sunday? Because that totally looksl ike my sister..and we were there this weekend.

Were you there on Saturday or Sunday? Because that totally looksl ike my sister..and we were there this weekend.
This was late Sunday afternoon.................
-
This was taken on Sunday afternoon, somewhere between 1 and 2 pm.
SpookyPooky, a woman tripped as she was coming through the gates. It's irrelevant though, because this was taken before she fell, I just didn't have myself well oriented when I first posted this :) Welcome back!
-
Wow! I think this pic is amazing! Great job Rachael! There is only one thing I think I see that bothers me about this one. To me, it looks like she has sunglasses pushed up on her head. Does anyone else see this?
-
Hmm... I don't see sunglasses, it looks like this to me... just like my hippie mommy used to sport :)
-
Here is a picture of the spot the figure (ghost) was standing (floating) at from a different angle. When I go back I'm going to have someone stand there and try to figure out if the figure was next to the tree or back by the path.
-
Ok I was looking really closely <i may be cross eyed now> but it does look liek sunglasses on her head to me too.
-
Now this is ground breaking stuff...
-
Thank you! All of you!
I couldn't fake this if I wanted to. Granted, I wouldn't want to, but I'm lucky I can log onto a computer, let alone come up with something like this. emb
This girl is not tech savvy, no, not at all.
I'm very happy that everyone likes it!
-
This is an extremely interesting photo. I am going to say it is a spirit. If you look at my man apparition photo he is very detailed as well, although he has no bottom half of his body, he does look almost life like just as this woman does. The way her hair is and her style of clothing is very dated as well I believe. EXCELLENT CATCH! =D>
-
Racheal I cannot believe that I finally get to comment on your picture!!! And what a picture! I am amazed! As I said earlier in my email you seem to have a knack for spirit photography. You may be getting information that you aren't even aware of. I mean either The BGC has suddenly gone crazy with activity all over the place or you have some kind of sensitivity to were to take a picture. To me so many of your photos are once in a lifetime pictures. Bravo bo
-
Rachael and I went back out there today trying to figure out this picture. We duplicated it pretty close I think, just a slightly different angle, however the size is right. So this original picture was taken about 14' away from the Apparition............So at that distance, we both are quite sure she would have saw a person looking right at her.
Also the picture of the Apparition, and the picture of Rachael look quite different.
I'm about 99.9% sure that we have the real deal here! :Y:
* This is the re-creation picture, NOT the ghost picture.
-
Also, in order to take this picture, I had to stand pretty much IN this thorny mess here. As I said to Ghost1, chances are I am the only one dumb enough to do that and then stay there. emb
-
Ghost and Rachael,
Great job at recreating. I really love your picture Rachael. I think you caught something great there.
Has Countrychika been back on. She stated that she thought that picture was of her sister.
-
Thanks Gina! We were able to get the angle so close because both of us showed up with a printed copy of it for comparison. I thought that was pretty funny. Also VERY funny to me was our new friend Tom that we met there trying to take a picture of the original picture, IN MY CAMERA, with HIS camera. Heh, that still cracks me up. I believe he ended up taking a picture from my print out instead. He seemed like a very nice guy, he was there installing high speed internet for the Newmans. :Y:
That is a good question about Countrychikas (sp?) sister, I was just wondering earlier today what day and time they were there. And if she was dressed like that. I think I saw somewhere on here that she was there Saturday, not 100% on that one though.
-

She went there Saturday afternoon, she had asked me in a PM to drive there first to make sure it was ok to go in......no cops.
-
Rachael- Now that I have seen the recreation photo you've got me convinced. Great work!
-
Thanks!
I am really glad we went and did that. It was the bush that drove it home for me, I can't imagine anyone would just be hanging out there, of all places. I wish I knew who she was.....

not to be a skeptic, I think the picture looks AMAZING. Just trying to rule everything out, and by no means am I calling anyone a fraud. I stumbled onto this on ebay the other day and while it is childish its not that different then this photo. Share your thoughts. If that picture is legit then FANTASTIC work

I was there myself when she took this, I can vouch that it's 100% real. :Y:
-
That's an interesting idea right there, who comes up with these things? It's funny you point it out, we've discussed how it looks like she is almost transposed into the picture.
I can promise you 100% that this picture was taken with my digital camera and is unedited. No disposables up my sleeve :) John was there, he can back that up. The first copy I posted of the picture has been edited for size only, as the original is huge and I was having trouble getting it to post. He has a copy of the original and can verify the camera it came from and that it is unedited, he has a snazzy little program that pulls the data off the picture.
For what it's worth, I am never offended at skepticism, I'm a big fan of it myself!

That ghosthunting ebay camera makes the ghosts obvious and obviously fake (in the forefront of the pic with a greenish glow). Rachael's ghost is in the background BEHIND leaves and foliage, thus making this NOT a "ghosthunting camera" picture.

Ghostlight, I was not saying that she took the picture using the ghosthunting camera on ebay. I was just making a point that, that sort of technology exists. Like I said in my post the Ebay camera looked pretty cheap. I just wanted people to be aware that stuff like that is out there. No disrespect to the photographer at all. Just trying to logically debunk the picture, I was not aware of her credibility.
-
Great job Racheal and Ghost on recreating! This is definitely imo the real deal! I agree with Colleen too that you may have a six sense of sorts Rachael ;)
-
Sunjess- No probs! I was just trying to debunk your debunking!! LOL It is all in the spirit of a feisty debate my friend!
-
Hi group!
Racheal- we were there on Saturday, so no way is this my sister...maybe her presence was "frozen" at the grove though!
Ghostlight-I'm headed to Peck and Greenwood today! SO EXCITED! :) I'll take some EVPs and pix and hopefully catch something!!
-
WOW! That's an incredible picture, Rachael! =D> I wouldn't checked it out sooner but we were on vacation and I was too tired this week to go on the computer and read. Funny how a vacation makes you more tired. LOL
That is one of the best pictures I've seen on here! It definitely ranks up there with the picture of the man dressed in a tan vest. Great find! I've got to go out to BGC again soon with you guys. Hopefully we can get more awesome pics like that! che
-
Chika!! Soo cool! I can't wait!
-
I just peed for one; two; I see the glow around the body of the lady. I seriously don't think this is a fake -- plus she looks transparent. I don't know, if this was taken with your digital -- mad props. I've never seen a digital photo look that incredible, are you sure she's not a real person? Although I've read the posts over -- I just can't believe this. I mean that in a good way though, because that is unbelievably crazy. bo
-
Hi Richy, and thanks! I had some potty issues when I saw it the first time too.
I suppose you can never be 100%, so I am going to say that I am 99% sure that is NOT a real person. John and I didn't see her in the cemetery in general, and I sure as heck didn't see her when I took the picture. Is it possible that someone will see this picture and claim to be her, and tell us that she has an affinity for standing around in thorns? Sure, but I'm starting to think it's pretty unlikely Qu

THIS PICTURE GIVES ME THE CHILLS ter
-
Wow thats amazing i cant believe you got that =D>
-
I do say, that is actually scary. For once, I am scared. I was just at this place today and I didn't see anything. I'd be so happy to catch an amazing photo like this one. Bravo.
-
so did u ever decide is it a ghost or not?
-
so did u ever decide is it a ghost or not?
We are about 99% sure it is............I was there when she took it, and there was no one there
-
This pic has me so Baffled..... Qu...its so unreal that your mind can't comprehend if it's real or not...at least mine can't...lol
-
Wow! The closeup is just incredible!
I saw an apparition once years and years ago in Northern Wisconsin also in the day light. The form was solid white (not that much translucent), floating just over ground stationary or moved in a back and forth manner- never saw bending knees etc as there was no evidence of legs, no face (black hole). Just vanished but lasted for some time.
-
Hi ixex, and welcome to the forum, we're glad to have you!
Did you see the apparition with bare eyes, or did you get it in a photograph? I've yet to see anything with the naked eye, but I'm hopeful :)

Welcome ixex. That is a great story. I have seen an apparition only one with my naked eye. But at the time I did not know that is what I was looking at. It is a pretty cool story when you have the time give it a read.

Hello Rachael,
I saw it with bare eyes. What was interesting was that I was not the only one who saw it. What happened was, I and a friend of mine were at a resort with our families and we were going to take a hike outside of the place and follow a logging road. The logging road started in the other end of the resort. What happend was as we just started walking into the woods a saw at first what I thought to be a person doing something down the ways. We stopped as it was unusual for a person to be down there. As we looked we realized it was just a human shape and that is it. I could not make out the gender nor could no make out what it was doing. It was moving but not walking. I was thinking to run all the way back to the cottage for the camera, but we were in such amazement that I could not go as I feared it would disappear, which it did. One other note, there were secluded cabins further down so once we first saw the object we weren't stunned at first, but being young we were afraid to run into anyone at that time in that type of environment. Especially after we saw that this was not a normal situation. After it vanished we ran back and did not continue our hike. ter We found out later that there was years ago in one of those cabins a murder and or suicide. I do not remember the story (if it had anything to do with it). :051bye:
-
Wow, ixex, very cool! Thanks for sharing :)
-
Rachael,
I see her left arm and hand. Is there something in her hand? Qu
-
That is a very good question, and I wish I knew the answer! Sometimes it looks to me like she does, sometimes I think she's just holding her hand at her waist. I never saw her with the naked eye, so this is all we have to go on :)
-
Hello,
I just got into the forums etc. but I really never gotten over this pictures quality. I really got into this photo throughout today, wishing to just express some novice observations on the person itself.
1) Purple/blue mostly diagonal strips- same color as her bottom half color- sash? Color coordinated.
2) Purple/blue object, flower? protruding on the left side/top of her head?
3) Similar objects showing specifically in more detail on her lower back? Area at which though is hit with great east sunlight, as with mist showing in the upper back region.
4) I would say the probability that someone would come dressed in an ensemble as that to hike in the woods, is less. Unless she came from church that Sunday?
5) Outfit to me seems out-of-date.
6) Were women of the 18th century laid to rest in those types of close? Or as even today, people are laid to rest in a variety of close. So when it came to it, those close for a lady of that social area acceptable?
7) The forehead is very prominent, and at closer view what seems to be the white/grey/black hairline. Then, not sure a purplish headpiece? A bonnet type? I do in a way see at some times, pushed up glasses, but not sunglasses. Near the above mentioned, protruding object, there seems what appears to be a roundish or loop on the left of the head?
8) Seeing her left hand the sleeve ends, bare arm to hands which the thumb is hyper-extended enough to hold a white, silver color object? A holy book in hand? From what I understand, people were buried with bibles-in-hand in early days. If she can have a peripheral in her hand, then she could have glasses?
9) The lips are very red?
10) I just looked closely at the original panoramic picture and noticed wondering, does she have on a white and odd blue patterned apron on? I guess maybe the whole thing is a blouse?
11) I think I am seeing that the bottoms of her leg areas are transparent?
Thanks,
ixex
:Y:

thank you for one of the finest posts I have ever read

Rachael, you ROCK!!!!!!!!
I bow to you in humility. :)

I am sorry, but on what date was this photo taken?

Oh, and Ixex! Great analysis, thanks for taking the time to look so closely! :Y:

If thats not a ghost, then i dont know what is!
-
Also is she holding something? You can see her left arm (right, to us) like by her belly as if she is holding something. A candle, maybe?
-
This particular picture makes the hair on the back of my neck stand up.Can't explain it...it just does.Thank you for posting it.
-
she does seem some what transparent. but at the same time she looks like an old school teacher that's sitting holding a book. i almost want to say that the reason she was 'looking at you' was almost as if u distracted her from her book. its a really good picture but it seems almost too good.

Perhaps it's a book!

During my last trip to Bachelor's Grove...I believe I have captured an EVP that completely signifies the look on this woman's face. It is...confusion...perhaps sorrow.
I will try to post this EVP as soon as I can, however I will just explain it for now.
I was telling my friend to take as many pictures as he could before we were about to leave the cemetery. About one second after I said that there is a DISTINCT female voice saying, "More?" in a way that sounds totally horrified.
-
Neat-o, please do post it!
You were getting ready to leave... so were you near the entrance?
-
Actually I am not sure if it was where the picture was taken but it would be interesting if it was! I should look into the location wh
-
Here is the "more?" I kinda cut off a bit of it at the end...I am so mad.
-
I don't know what to say, I've seen good fakes before. But this, this is amazeing if it's real. :055confused:
-
Yep, this is definately an amazing photo!!!! =D> =D> =D> =D>

I actually was born and raised in Hammond, IN, which is right next to Chicago and close to Midlothian. I had never heard of this place before. I had lived there for 21 years. Anyway I had heard of Bachelor Grove the other night when it was on History International. Now weren't the people that originally lived there like all related? I am only asking because this lady, to me, looks like the lady in the blue dress. I mean their faces look the same like they could of almost been sisters or something. Wow! If only we knew the history of this lovely place better.
-
Thanks for sharing this perfect pic ,
-
ok...I think this is a awesome pic...but if I see right, her left arm is up on the stomach and in her hand it looks like she have a camera....so if she have a camera I dont believe it is a spirit, then it is a humen.
-
Even if she does have a camera, (which i personally didn't see), it doesn't explain the iridescent (spelling doesn't count, does it?) glow that she has around her.
-
(spelling doesn't count, does it?)
No, bad spelling is encouraged :) We all look smarter then.
-
(spelling doesn't count, does it?)
I hope not LoL for an unenglish speaking humen I will do alot of wrong spellings
-
Well then, i certainly hope there aren't any grammar nazis on here. :lol6:
-
When I first looked at this picture, I thought it was just a person standing there. But, when you note her expression of surprise and her clothing, and the way it looks as if she is holding the top of her dress together with her right hand (which is something an 18th century woman caught by surprise would do), I truly believe you have gotten a great shot of a ghost. Thanks for sharing this. ( I wonder if she might have been pregnant also with the way she has her left hand on her stomach.)
-
cho Okay so I blew this up and examined it closely, if you look at the picture very closely you can see her body stops just under her chest line, you can see through parts of the trees at the top and to the bottom she is visible at the top but in the lower region of the picture there is nothing in the clearing where her body should continue except her "hand" which upon further observation is also just leaves. As a matter of fact if you look closely what you do see in the clearings is all background foliage. Also her face appears incomplete and a bluish tone to her lips. very curious indeed.
-
The subject in this picture looks to be about 50-60 years old. The clothing appears to be a dress in a light blue with darker blue roses calico. I'm just guessing it's roses, roses are a common flower on calico fabric. I am familiar with fabric because I have way too much of it. This fabric today you might find in the quilting section at a fabric store. I don't recall seeing any fabric like it, but I suppose I could take a look next time I'm at the fabric store. No self-respecting woman today would make a dress styled like this, or in that fabric, or wear it if available. Today, it would be used for quilting only. With today's knits, who would choose to iron a cotton calico fabric? I don't mind ironing, but none of my clothing requires ironing - strictly wash and wear. There is a thin dark belt at the stomach area - probably black. A black belt would not be the chosen look to wear with this color and print of fabric. The sleeves are long and gathered. The hair I'm going to guess is gray and isn't so much slicked back as it is thinner hair and I can tell it's slightly curled. I'm going to guess it's pulled back in a bun. I guess I would look at the tombstones to see if there is a woman who was approximately 50-60 years old when she died. I would also take note of the year of death and consider the type of clothing at that time that would have been worn. As to the expression on the face - I believe at the time the picture was taken a woman fell? That expression could be perceived as shock and concern for the woman who fell. The one thing that sticks out for me the most is the fact that this woman is hidden behind brush. Try to identify the area of the picture to determine if this would have even been a location anyone one would choose to hike. In looking at the complete picture, I don't think so. I see no paths. I, personally, don't think it's a picture of an individual living today. Great picture, and what a great spot to do this kind of research.
-
Oh God, I look at this picture and can't believe that someone can be such a lucky person to catch this!!! Thrilling =D>
And what is the long spot of light above her head (near the trunk)?
(Sorry for my English, greetings from Russia :)
-
HOLLY CRAP Qu I have never seen a pic like this, simply amazing!
-
I'm a huge believer-turned-skeptic, but this is really interesting. .... Cool.
-
I could seriously see this being real! Great Job! =D>

I really don't think that's a person. Hence the NO EYES lol. This is a really good picture but i CAN'T FIND IT IN THE BIGGER PICTURE ONLY THE CLOSE UP

It's on the far right side, very small next to the dead tree.

I believe I may have found a name for this spirit. Delaney Hulett McKee. If I'm assuming correct, this is taken around plot #43, where the Moss Headstone is located? A few of the Mckee Family members were also buried near that plot as well, one on north half and one on second half. Mrs. McKee was a school teacher for 25 years for Cook County Schools. I've found a drawing of her, but it's a .gif, and if you'd like to see it, i can email it to you. She died April 16, 1920.
-
Oh Yes, ....Yes Please, I have been trying to match her to a person buried there. That would be the smoking gun! :Y:
