Taken from a Letters to the Editor for December 10th Sun-Times:
"The Willowbrook Ballroom proudly stands along-side Archer Avenue in Cook County in Willow Springs. She is the last big ballroom in the United States and has survived for over 85 years through recessions, depressions, wars and everything that life can throw at her. That is until this year when Cook County handed her a whopping 40 percent property tax increase!
The owner, Mrs. B, recently told me with her eyes welling up that the Cook County Board of Tax Appeals denied her appeal. Reason? No other properties exist that can be compared to the Willowbrook Ballroom. "
So, perchance the starting point of Resurrection Mary's trip up Archer will cease to exist.
If that's the case, it'll be a terrible blow to the paranormal community.

Well in reality, the building is a drive by type of location,
it's not that often one or a group gets to enter and wander around
it, as there is always something going on at the location, from weddings
and large parties to radio station parties.
The story would go from 'here stands the location that ..... to 'this is
the location that .......
Did she say it may close or was she upset over the raise in her tax bill
that she will pay? See my taxes went down and I'm about 5 minutes
away in a different city, but I've teared up also in the past, until this
year when Cook County lowered mine on their own.

This is true...it does not have to mean that it will be "closed."
I believe this could still be a great place to admire.

They were having A LOT of problems with the patronage in the separate bar in the back...I think that operation now has shut down from what I was told.

I passed by not long ago and saw activity...now I just hope it was human
