History Channel's "Haunted Chicago"
« on: Jun 01 2009 - 08:54PM »
Back in 2001, the History Channel created a series titled "Haunted History".  There was one eipsode titled "Haunted Chicago". I checked it out from the library & let me tell you all; it well worth seeing. Richard Crowe &  Ursula Bielski (man, she's so beautiful) makes comments about all the haunted chicagoland sights INCLUDING BGC.  che

I remember watching this about 6 or so years ago!

I remember them talking about...SPOILERS BELOW...

  • Bachelor's Grove
  • The ghost of Clarence Darrow
  • The ghost of this woman in a blue dress who haunts a bar asking if they can watch her child
  • St. Valentine's Day Massacre ghosts

And finally, something I've been meaning to get cleared up for a while...

  • This creepy story about a farmer in the 1800's who heard voices telling him to kill his wife and daughter with an axe.

^But I couldn't remember if that story was connected with BG or not and its been bothering me for months. At the time I thought so but now I'm thinking not because I've never heard anything else about that legend in all my research of BG. Could you or someone clear that up for me? Thanks.

What else did the documentary talk about that I'm not remembering? Or did I cover everything? Also which library did you check it out of? I've been wanting to watch it again but I couldn't find it online anywhere.

If you have a library card for the SWAN libraries, you can get a copy.  I had to order it from another library & I can't remember the library's name off hand.   It covers alot. Great footage of BGC. Almost as cool as the "Ghosts of Chicago" video.  Your memory is correct.

Ummm, I think so. It says alot about BGC that might be speculation.
