Topic: What is this?

I was going through some pictures that where taken in the woods in my yard and I saw this one.  What the heck is this, any ideas?

  This pictures was taken deep in my woods, I was out just taking random pictures one night.  I went through them all and didn't see a thing but a cat in a tree.............I have no idea what this is though, I does look like fire but I sure as hell would have saw a fire in my woods.

i keep looking at this one.  I tried enlarging it and then it was too blurred.  This one totally has me scratching my head

It was daylight too right?  So no flash was used.............. I am baffled on this one I tell ya

No, It was pitch black in the middle of the night.  That's how I know it wasn't some sort of fire.  So it was a flash, however I have never seen a flash do anything even near that? 

You know, it kind of....just a bit looks like a open mouth tilted back to the right side with nostrils right above it?

I see what you are talking about regarding the mouth......... huh........ I'm stumped

I don't see the mouth thing at all.  Ghost you need to go into the woods and take some more pictures.  With the flash and the same situation. I would bet that you can re-create this. There are a few things that will react this way to a flash camera. There are some insects that lay their eggs on leaves or branches and those eggs are incubated in all sorts of different fabrics. Lots of them are fiber like. Even some types of spider webs could be capable of this. Some kinds of tinsel might look this way in the pitch black night with a flash. And even though it's in the deep woods there could still be some sort of tinsel out there drug in there by an animal or another person exploring like you. I would go back to the same area if that is possible but if not just go and take a bunch more photo's and see if you get anything. And if not then.......

Perhaps you have photographed a Fairy!!!!

I have no idea, it's the colors of fire.  But I have never seen a fire that looks like that before.

Well OK.... DarkOne brought this back to the top and I had another look at it. This really is a brilliant photo. Whatever it is.

Colleen, here is what i said kind of looks like a mouth.  I'm pretty sure it's not, but this is what I meant............I outlined the mouth, noise and where the eyes should be (If they where there)

I just have no idea of what this could be, what is odd is that it was taken in the pitch black woods?
